Our database is based on the official Apple API. To verify this, we implemented it on the web and made it available here. Please note that we logically filter the results to avoid irrelevant hits. Unlike our SUPER SEARCH database mentioned above, Apple's API search is severely limited. It returns a maximum of 200 entries per search, including an exceptionally high number of irrelevant hits. Therefore, we filter by the category "Music" and specific tags such as "auv3," "Audio Unit," and "Extension." If a developer hasn't optimized the descriptions of their App Store listings, search issues may occur.

There are currently several established forums and communities acting as gatekeepers.
It's very obvious, that almost always the same people are behind them. It's equally clear that these people make selections and actively filter out, for example, certain developers (especially new and unknown). It especially will happen, if such developers deny cooperation with the gatekeepers and/or do not apply to these 'communities'.

Even such apps as AUBE and AppRaven are highly problematic, have some connections to the bespoken 'szene' and apparently filter or just ignore available AUv3 and app releases and are - therefore - far from being complete. They just - intentionally or not - distort the market, especially if feeding price wars on a dedicated maket, where almost nobody can live from the revenues.
Legacy listings on the internet are nearly all incomplete at current state or even death since years but still ranked on top for search results in major search engines.
All lists are based on availability in the Apple App Store. The data is fetched from the official public Apple API. All app names, developer names, prices, and icons are the intellectual property of Apple Inc. or their respective owners. Pricing and availability are snapshots and continous subject to change.
