Record a sound. Touch it. Watch it bloom.
Sam is a granular texture instrument. Capture a few seconds of anything — your voice, a glass, a chord, the room — and Sam scatters it into a cloud of grains you play with one finger. Drag across the sound to scrub through it. Glide up and down to bend its pitch. Let go, and the cloud drifts on its own, slowly wandering through your recording like weather.
Everything is one screen. The cloud you see is the sound you hear: more grains means denser texture, bigger grains mean smoother smears, wider scatter means wider stereo. Shape it with a handful of quiet sliders — grain size, density, width, drift, reverb — and when it sounds like something you want to keep, render it.
One tap renders sixteen seconds of your texture to a clean stereo WAV, exactly as you heard it. AirDrop it to your Mac, save it to Files, or send it straight into your favorite sampler or DAW. No accounts, no cloud, no menus between you and the sound.
Your recordings never leave your phone. Sam collects nothing.
HOW IT WORKS
— Record up to a few seconds of audio with the mic
— PLAY auditions your raw recording
— DRONE starts the granular engine: drag for position, glide for pitch
— DRIFT lets the cloud wander hands-free, with depth and rate control
— Built-in reverb, from a whisper of room to a wash
— RENDER captures 16 seconds to 48 kHz / 16-bit stereo WAV
— Share anywhere — built for the sampler-and-DAW workflow
Sam is the third instrument from Fecit Audio — small, focused music tools that do one thing beautifully. If you make ambient, downtempo, film textures, or just like turning ordinary sounds into extraordinary ones, Sam was made for you.
